Wind Power Plants Generated 2.3% of Balancing Electricity in December

Tbilisi (GBC) – Georgia-based wind power pants have generated 2.3% of the balancing electricity in December 2019.

As reported by Electricity System Commercial Operator (ESCO), the volume of purchased balancing electricity made up 299,370,865.5 kw/h, i.e. 25% in total supply to the network. The price of the balancing electricity made up 44 million GEL.

The majority of balancing electricity was imported from abroad -70.3%. The ratio of hydro power plants made up 24.5%. The ratio of wind power plants made up 2.3% and the ratio of steam power plants constituted 2.9%.
