Banks Are Increasing Their Income From Borrowers’ Fines

Tbilisi (GBC) - Revenues of the banking sector from fines/penalties increased to GEL 74 million (2022-50.3 million). Only Basis Bank’s revenues were reduced from fined borrowers out of large capital banks (TBC, BOG, VTB, Liberty Bank, CARTU, Basis bank).
In total, the sector received GEL 73.7 million from fines in 2021, and GEL 540 million from commission income (GEL 376.5 million in 2020).
