Tbilisi (GBC) - The volume of non-bank deposits in the banking sector amounted to GEL 37.23 billion as of May 1, 2022. Which is an increase of 127.20 million GEL (+ 0.34% m.m) in April. According to NBG statistics, the monthly increase without the exchange rate effect is 1.7%.
Time deposits decreased by GEL 132 million in April, mainly
due to the exchange rate effect (an increase of GEL 212 million in the same
month last year), as more than 70% of time deposits are in foreign currency,
due to the recent depreciation of USD, the GEL equivalent is less.
Deposits of individuals and legal entities increased by 4.5%
annually (01.05.2021- 35.6 billion). The dollarization ratio is reduced by 3% p
to 59.5% (01.05.2021 - 62.7%.
